Sweet and Spicy Grilled Pork Jerky
A popular lunch and snack food from Hawaii, Soo Jerky added another texture to the musubi: a simple addition of a sweet and spicy grilled, juicy jerky.
2 cup Fancy Japanese Rice
2 1/4 cup Water
1 Can Spiced Ham
1 Sheet of Seaweed (Nori)
Step 1: Add rice and water together in a rice cooker and cook. Slice Spiced Ham about 1 cm thick and grill on a frying pan until browned. Cut Soo Jerky’s Sweet and Spicy Grilled Pork Jerky to the same length as Spiced Ham. Cut seaweed about an inch wide.
Step 2: After the rice has been cooked and cooled, form the rice into rectangles the same size as the Spiced Ham and twice as thick (Hint: wet hands with water to handle rice so that the rice doesn’t stick to your hands). Wrap ingredients with seaweed, using water to seal the seaweed on the bottom of the musubi.
